The Ledger: Mosquito Joe Helps Florida Residents Enjoy The Outdoors During Mosquito Season

Mosquito Joe franchisee Gina Saunders is bringing the brand's services to new communities in the Sunshine State.

If there's one thing all Floridians have in common, it's mosquitoes. Mosquito Joe* franchisee Gina Saunders, who has been a Florida resident all of her life, knows this all too well.

She'll be operating Lakeland's answer to the mosquito problem with her husband of 32 years, Dean. It was their daughter, Lauren, who first introduced them to the mosquito control service in St. Petersburg.

“At Lauren's house, you could hardly go from your car to her front door without being attacked by mosquitoes,” Saunders said. “She kept talking about how much they loved (Mosquito Joe), and I thought about how we have this backyard that we'd love to enjoy but can't always use.”

Since there were no locations in the Lakeland area, Gina and Dean decided to bring the service to the region. Now, not only are they happy, but so is their new next-door neighbor.

“I was skeptical because it seemed a little far-fetched to have a service that could basically rid you of your mosquito problem,” said Sarah Powers, who sampled the service shortly after Mosquito Joe of Polk County launched. “We do not have a mosquito problem now."
