The Pantagraph: Slim Chickens Expands in Illinois

Third Illinois Slim Chickens to open in Bloomington next spring.

Slim Chickens, the Arkansas-based "better chicken" franchise is headed to Bloomington next spring. 
 
Brian Simowitz, Slim Chickens vice president of franchise operations, told The Pantagraph that Slim Chickens is about food quality, service and providing a Southern hospitality-style atmosphere. Having opened two Central Illinois locations recently -- one in Peoria and another last month in Champaign -- area director Dave Harris had his sights on Bloomington next.
 
"We're doing the ground work right now. We're hoping we can get the parking lot and concrete done before it starts to freeze," said Harris to the publication. "From that point on we'll do the process of putting up the building over the next few months, and probably shoot for March to open."
 
Bloomington's restaurant will be among 40 to 50 new Slim Chickens expected to open in 2017, according to The Pantagraph.
