TWO MEN AND A TRUCK* franchisees Bryan and Rebecca Feldman and Nathan Bocock live by daily to-do lists.

“I keep a legal pad that I work from day to day, and it’s the only thing that keeps me organized,” Bocock said. “Otherwise I will undoubtedly forget most things.”

Rebecca added, “It is the only way to cover everything!”

And there’s a lot to cover on a day-to-day basis at TWO MEN AND A TRUCK.

Bryan Feldman arrives to work every day by 7:30 a.m. and focuses on the operations and logistics of the franchises they run. He helps the crews get ready and answers any questions they might have.

Rebecca Feldman said throughout the day, her husband meets with operations staff, sales staff and on-site estimators to discuss upcoming items. He also spends a majority of his day on the phone with managers from other locations, working on truck purchases, building items and equipment purchases. He leaves the last hour or so of the day to wrap up any loose ends and heads out by 5:30 p.m.

Rebecca starts a little later in the day and focuses on the financial and marketing side of the business. She gets to the office around 8:15 a.m. and dives right into e-mails, returns phone calls and creates her list for the day.

Bocock said without his list he would forget most of the things he has to do because the phone rings non-stop throughout the day—and he wouldn’t have it any other way.

“There are literally so many moving parts that you have to stay on top of everything,” Rebecca said. “We allow our managers to run the franchises, but we are available to them at all times, and with four, soon to be five franchises, there is always something that needs attention!”

The TWO MEN AND A TRUCK trio run four franchises together: the Richmond, Chesterfield, Charlottesville, and Tallahassee locations. Bryan and Rebecca, also husband and wife, run the Greenville, South Carolina location and Bocock runs the Wilmington, North Carolina location.

The Feldmans and Bocock worked together for a year and half before opening their first office in Tallahassee, Florida in 2012. Bocock said, “We knew it was the right fit to be in business together.”

Bryan started working for TWO MEN AND A TRUCK in Columbia, South Carolina as a mover in 1996 and gradually worked his way up to assistant manager. When the opportunity arose in 2002 to own the franchise in Greenville, South Carolina, the Feldman’s jumped at the opportunity.

“We knew this was a business we could both work in and work together to make our franchise successful,” Rebecca said.

She added that the franchise offered brand recognition and a support system. That made their decision to purchase a TWO MEN AND A TRUCK franchise easier instead of going out and trying to open a moving company of their own.

The trio opened up the Charlottesville location in early April and that’s a big deal to them.

“Opening new franchises is very exciting,” Rebecca said. “It allows you to build on your success, but with each new one you realize there is a better or slightly different way to do something and you improve with each one.”
