Sally Milligan opened Toppers Pizza in Lawrence last week with a grand opening on Saturday, August 19th. The Daily Kansan spoke with Milligan and Toppers’ director of franchise development Mark Cairns about the brand and the big opening celebration.
According to the article, people were already lining up on Friday for the chance to win free pizza for a year. Milligan also detailed the unique Toppers menu.
Said Milligan, “The pizzas are amazing. Our specialty house pizzas like the ‘Loaded Tot-Za’ and the buffalo chicken and the buffalo mac ‘n cheese — things like that — I think are affordable, and I think they're better priced than anybody else in town, along with being better quality.”
The piece also mentions how well Toppers Pizza does with college campus locations.
Said Cairns, “College students today are probably a little bit different than years ago that everything was super on-a-budget and cheap. But college students today and the millennials are demanding and want higher quality products at a value, and that's where Topper's comes in and plays at an extremely high level.”
