Fast-growing maintenance and senior home-services franchise TruBlue Total House Care has announced the launch of an innovative partnership with leading in-home senior care brand Right at Home. Together, the two brands are working toward a mutual goal of improving the home environment for seniors aging in place safely and successfully.

Now, in addition to the standard Right at Home personal care assessment provided as part of every new Right at Home service, new clients will also receive a free comprehensive Senior Home Safety Assessment performed by a TruBlue Senior Home Safety Specialist®. Currently being piloted in San Antonio, Chattanooga and Birmingham, the program will become part of Right at Home’s onboarding process in additional select markets.

TruBlue will also provide a discount to any Right at Home client for senior home modifications while offering ongoing, in-home assistance to seniors with small projects that might otherwise be extremely difficult, such as moving furniture or changing a lightbulb.

As the only franchise system focused on providing comprehensive home maintenance and support services for seniors both inside and outside of the home, TruBlue Total House Care is uniquely aligned with Right at Home’s mission to improve the quality of life for those they serve.

“It’s an honor to partner with Right at Home, a 27-year strong, nationally-recognized leader in at-home senior care,” said Sean Fitzgerald, President of TruBlue. “We’re excited to have the opportunity to make an impact on the lives of seniors in these pilot markets by not only lending a hand around the house but also by using our expertise to identify household hazards and prevent falls that can lead to serious injury and even death.”

The leading cause of injury and injury death in adults ages 65 and older is falling, and studies show that more than 60% of senior falls happen at home, with one out of every five causing a serious injury.

According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, falls are preventable and not a normal part of the aging process. While certain medications, age-related muscle atrophy and vision problems can all make seniors vulnerable to falling, risk can be greatly minimized by senior-proofing a home with grab bars and handrails, installing brighter lighting and eliminating potential tripping and slipping dangers. Because every home — and senior — is unique, a TruBlue Senior Home Safety Assessment can allow seniors to age in place safely and avoid unwanted outcomes such as hospitalization and/or nursing home care.

According to the National Council on Aging, 90% of seniors say they plan to remain in their homes for the next five to 10 years, a trend that has continued to grow as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We're thrilled to partner with TruBlue to help our seniors remain safe and comfortable in their own homes,” said Margaret Haynes, Chief Executive Officer at Right at Home. “TruBlue offers a unique range of services that perfectly complement our offering at Right at Home allowing us to ensure successful aging in place in homes and communities across the country.”
