Vince Maffeo, the largest multi-unit franchisee of Comfort Keepers in California, has signed with handyman and home maintenance franchise TruBlue Total House Care to combine the two brands and create a safer home environment for seniors. Maffeo's decision to invest in TruBlue came after the strategic alliance between Comfort Keepers and TruBlue last year, which recognized TruBlue as a preferred provider of handyman services and senior home modifications.

“I knew it would be more beneficial to own a TruBlue location and more convenient for our clients,” said Maffeo, who owns 10 Comfort Keepers franchises, told HomeCare Magazine. “Buying a TruBlue means that my Comfort Keepers locations won’t have to refer out the handyman and home services as we’ve done in the past. It’s now a one-stop shop. Comfort Keepers provides care for the individual, and TruBlue provides maintenance to the home.”

TruBlue, the only franchise system focused on ongoing home maintenance and handyman services for seniors and busy adults, offers a subscription program for help around the house, including to-do list chores, handyman repairs and home maintenance. Franchisees can also perform senior home safety assessments and make necessary safety modifications.

Maffeo plans to open his first TruBlue location in Modesto later this year, applying the same tailored approach used at Comfort Keepers to TruBlue by assessing the needs of clients' homes and executing the plan effectively.

“Vince is a prime example of how existing senior care franchise owners can successfully expand their portfolio by investing in TruBlue as an add-on service,” said TruBlue President Sean Fitzgerald. “We have partnered with companies like Comfort Keepers to further our mission of educating families and seniors on how to age in place successfully, and having someone like Vince take that partnership to the next level by investing in TruBlue is a great testament to the strength of our brand.”
