Lawrence Journal-World: Local builders open new business geared toward providing home maintenance for retirees, seniors

With a combined 50 years of experience in construction and remodeling, Travis Dillion and Mike Nuffer opened the first TruBlue Total House Care in Lawrence, KS.

Carpenter Travis Dillon and contractor and homebuilder Mike Nuffer combined forces to launch a remodeling company called Aging in Place Solutions in Lawrence, Kansas. However, they ultimately realized converting to TruBlue Total House Care, a full-service senior-friendly home maintenance company, would give them additional resources and support.

“We really want to put a strong focus on helping people stay at home longer,” said Dillon. “Aging-in-place modifications are something we really are passionate about.”

Both men are specially trained to work with seniors by performing Senior Home Safety Assessments, performing age-friendly renovations and offering House Care Plus. This regular service program can help seniors and busy families enjoy the comforts and convenience of owning a home without worrying about maintenance hassles.

“We can come out monthly or quarterly, depending on their needs and wants,” Dillon said. “It might be just to change furnace filters, or maybe change light bulbs if they aren’t comfortable getting on ladders anymore.”
