TruBlue Total House Care, the 80-plus-unit home maintenance franchise, has built a successful franchise concept on a foundation of ensuring seniors’ living spaces are safe and cared for. For Angela and Spencer Brooks, this unique combination made perfect sense and aligned with Spencer’s prior construction experience.

“We want to ensure seniors’ homes are safe,” said Angela. “My mom is 89 and still lives in her same house. She’s lucky that she has family to help her with things, but she would be a perfect client for the TruBlue model.”

Spencer has always been in home improvement, running a business that handles large remodeling projects. When Angela retired, the pair moved to Florida, and he began investigating business models that hinged on smaller projects that were more in line with home improvement and handyman services.

After signing with TruBlue and attending the company’s training, Spencer obtained his general contractor license in Florida. The duo is set to open for business in early November.

“We are in St. Petersburg, and there’s definitely a demand in this area,” Angela said. “It seems like there are a majority of people retiring here. They might lose a spouse but not want to leave their homes, so they need extra help.”

As the business continues to grow, the Brooks are looking forward to becoming a community staple and taking on their next meaningful venture.

“We can’t wait to help the community and be the type of handyman that’s able to help everyone out,” she added. “My retirement was wonderful, but I am excited to find something to do without going back into the office. I love networking and meeting people, and I’m excited to be able to support Spencer with the business.”

The brand’s president Sean Fitzgerald says the market for TruBlue’s work is wide open and in demand.

“I suspect that the Brooks are going to see phenomenal amounts of inquiries in Florida for families in need of help with home modifications,” Fitzgerald said. “Adult children who live out of the market want to make sure their parents are in a well-maintained and safe home, and TruBlue really specializes in keeping our customers comfortable while providing peace of mind to their families. We are looking forward to continued growth in the Sunshine State.”

The total investment estimate for a TruBlue Total House Care franchise ranges from $65,050–$91,400. To learn more about franchising with TruBlue, please visit https://trubluefranchise.com/.
