They jumped around between a few industries, including fast food and banking, before deciding they wanted to pursue a career together where they could combine their passions and spend more time with their two young children. Dustin enjoys carpentry projects, a skill he picked up from his father’s handyman business growing up. Meanwhile, C.C. found her passion in helping seniors while working at a bank.&nbsp;“Both of us decided we wanted to start making money for ourselves instead of other people,” said C.C. “And if we're going to work for ourselves, we want it to be something we’re passionate about.”When they discovered TruBlue Total House Care, they couldn’t believe how perfectly it fit their goals.“The senior aspect is what I really liked, and the handyman aspect is what my husband liked,” said C.C. “In banking, I worked a lot with elderly people and seniors, and I think they're not helped enough in our society. I feel like other countries do better at supporting seniors and retired military. We're all going to be old someday, and hopefully, we've got somebody that can help us too. Dustin, on the other hand, has always been handy and has done all our home renovations. Now, they say their primary goal is to get their name out in the community and hire 10 employees. “We have both worked for companies and managers that we didn't fully agree with how they handled things,” said C.C. “So our goal is to not just make customers happy, but to make our employees happy — And to be the managers we wish we would have had.”Overall, C.C. says the Brashears are most excited to invest in themselves and take control of their destiny while also providing a valuable service to their community.“We are hard workers,” she said. “This is the biggest chance we've ever taken on something, and it's really exciting for us. We started off really nervous, but now that business is coming in, It's just probably one of the most exciting things we've ever done.
