Twitter Testing Online Status Indicators
The social media platform is testing out different features to give it a more conversational flow.
Twitter has announced that it is testing out new features intended to make the flow of the platform more conversational. According to a recent article on CNET.com, the social media giant is experimenting with an online indicator as well as a threading option for responses.
For the test, a green circle is being used to show that a user is online. This mirrors the treatment that Facebook and Instagram use to reflect this status. Twitter users have expressed a desire to be able to deactivate this status indicator on the platform if it is rolled out system-wide.
Threaded tweets would have replies indented below original tweets. They would be color-coded in order to distinguish between the original person who tweeted, other replies and one’s own comments.
