After enjoying 54 consecutive months of record growth and achieving a 96-percent customer referral rating, Ontario-based TWO MEN AND A TRUCK*® has Calgary in its crosshairs as the next top market for expansion. The company will be showcased at the upcoming Calgary National Franchise Show September 20-21. TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® currently has 21 locations in Ontario. Now the brand plans to expand its footprint across Alberta with two new exciting locations in both Calgary and Edmonton.

“With a 30-year history in the U.S. and a proven track record in Canada, we can seamlessly expand into prime territories in Western Canada,” said John Prittie, president and chief executive of Heron Capital Corp., which is the master franchisee in Canada for TWO MEN AND A TRUCK®. The moving franchise is offering single- and multi-unit ownership opportunities in major cities across Western Canada. It projects to open four territories in 2015 and looks to secure deals for Calgary, Vancouver, Edmonton and the remaining marketing territories in Ontario of Scarborough, Windsor and Ottawa East.

“Our company has continued to surpass growth expectations while focusing on top-notch customer service, resulting in a system-wide referral rating of 96 percent,” Prittie said. “One of our core values is The Grandma Rule®,  which, simply put, means treat everyone the way you would want your grandma treated. TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® International hit a significant milestone this year, surpassing its five millionth move in May on the cusp of the busiest part of the entire moving season, the ramp up to summer.”

He noted that franchisees in TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® can capitalize on the system’s revenue growth potential because so much of it is built upon customer service and referral, as opposed to being location-dependent like some retail franchise businesses. “Coveted in franchising, a service-related business such as TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® presents a special opportunity for the right individual,” Prittie said.

“We see this as the perfect scenario for anyone with a mind-set dedicated to operating a successful business, embraces customer service and thinks like an entrepreneur while implementing within a proven set of operational and marketing guidelines.”

The TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® brand has created a solid foundation for franchisees that start out with a single territory and who aspire to expand into multiunit ownership at the appropriate time. This notion, coupled with the start-up costs between $171,000 and $320,500, has positioned TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® to continue to exceed its aggressive goals. TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® Canada also has embraced heart health organization The Mikey Network as its charity of choice.

To that end, each and every TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® branded moving truck across Canada carries a defibrillator on board. Dubbed the Mikey On Board program, all of their movers and drivers are trained in CPR and how to use their defibrillators. While they are first and foremost in the moving business with a focus on delivering excellence in customer service, they also like to say they are in the business of saving lives. Today with 1,600 defibrillators placed in various public locations across Canada, the charity has saved 21 lives to date.
