Kahala Franchising has a diverse portfolio of big name brands such as Cold Stone Creamery, Taco Time and Blimpie. The franchisor implemented the Boots to Business initiative to pay tribute to brave men and women who valiantly served for the nation's armed forces. For any military veteran who enters the system, the brand provides a discounted franchise fee of 50 percent for all brands under the Kahala umbrella.  Jillian Clothier, director of franchise development, has seen the investment succeed tenfold. “We receive dozens of inquiries from veterans each month looking to own their own business, and we have a number of veteran owners operating stores across the country.” Clothier said. Kahala strives to be the top franchising company in the industry, and when it comes to Boots to Business, their standards don’t change. “While many of our competitors do offer a discount to veterans, the 50 percent discount offered under Boots to Business seems to be one of the steepest discounts, and we are proud and happy to offer that as a way of saying ‘thank you’ to those brave men and women who have served for all of us.” Clothier added. While in active service, these men and women are trained to follow systems and protocols in order to accomplish tasks.  While running a  business, this specific type of training can be applied and utilized. “We as the franchisor are responsible for setting our owners up with proper training and systems, and we find that our veteran owners are very disciplined and able to execute the systems put in place.” Clothier said. “Working so close with veterans gives us the opportunity to be partners with men and women who have put their lives on the line for our freedom.  The ability to support and partner with such selfless people is truly an honor.”
