Would You Like Some Metal Shavings With Your Doritos Locos Tacos?

Another day, another restaurant scandal.

One would think that we wouldn’t have to worry about our favorite restaurant contaminating our food with metal––but leave it to Taco Bell to surprise us all. According to CBS News, Taco Bell has recalled 2.3 million pounds of beef after a customer found a metal shaving in a menu item.

If it’s not Sweetgreen’s cancer-linked serving bowls, it’s Chipotle’s E. coli romaine lettuce, and if it’s not E. coli romaine lettuce it’s metal shavings in Taco Bell’s tacos. The beef that’s being recalled was produced by Kenosha Beef in Columbus, Ohio between September 20 and October 4, which includes seasoned beef taco and burrito filling that was delivered to Taco Bells nationwide, according to a Food Safety and Inspection Service article.

Some Taco Bell restaurants have been recommending chicken or steak to  customers since the public recall rather than the alleged metal-infused beef. Some customers still aren’t taking any chances eating at the QSR chain until Taco Bell provides some answers.

“Hey @tacobell can you guys be real about what’s going on with your beef,” said Twitter user @jeff_serenks. “I love eating there and the secrecy of what’s going on makes me afraid to ever eat at your restaurant again.”

While President of Taco Bell’s North American division Julie Masino promised its loyal customers that “nothing is more important than our customers’ safety and nothing means more to us than their trust,” customers are still concerned, CBS said.

If you’re looking to “live más,” maybe steer clear of Taco Bell for a little.
