Yahoo! News: “Finding Those Hidden Damages From Texas Winter Storms”
Property Damage Appraisers Vice President of Sales and Marketing Ryan Stokes discusses how Texas residents can identify damage in their home
In an interview that was picked up by Yahoo! News, Ryan Stokes, vice president of sales and marketing at Property Damage Appraisers, addressed the recent winter storms in Texas and described how residents can identify hidden damage in their homes. While burst pipes are one of the most common signs of damage, Stokes provided advice on how to spot the other signs such as rings on the ceiling and squishy spots on the floor, as well as tips for how to prepare for damage in the future. Property Damage Appraisers is the nation’s leading damage appraisal firm and completes over 300,000 appraisals a year.
“Every spring, we recommend people take an inventory of their house. Take photos of everything that you have,” said Stokes. “If you do see something that's suspicious, take photos immediately, that way you can catch it early. If you see a small bulge in the floor, if you see a little bit of a ring on the ceiling, go ahead and take pictures. Get those to your insurance company.”
