Franchise Opportunity Deep Dive: Zoomin Groomin is a mobile pet grooming franchise that brings professional, one-on-one grooming services directly to customers’ homes.

Zoomin Groomin is a mobile pet grooming franchise designed to bring professional grooming directly to pet owners. Rather than operating from a traditional salon, franchisees deploy fully equipped grooming vans into their territories, allowing groomers to provide services at customers’ homes. The model combines the convenience of an on-demand home service with the recurring demand associated with pet grooming, while eliminating the need for a traditional retail storefront.
The brand has also been expanding rapidly. Zoomin Groomin finished 2023 with 70 franchised vehicles, grew to 169 by the end of 2024 and reached 257 by the end of 2025.
Zoomin Groomin traces its roots to 2004, when Donna Sheehey launched the company with a single van and a vision for a more convenient, less stressful approach to pet grooming.
ZG Enterprises, Inc. operated the original franchise business. The current franchisor, Zoomin Groomin USA LLC, was formed in Virginia in December 2020 and purchased the assets of ZG Enterprises that same month. The current franchisor began offering franchises in April 2021 and operates under Loyalty Brands.
Today, Zoomin Groomin provides pet grooming services through branded mobile vehicles that travel directly to customers. The company positions the experience around personalized, one-on-one care rather than the waiting rooms, cages and multiple-pet environments that can be associated with traditional salons.
Mission: Zoomin Groomin aims to make grooming easier and less stressful by delivering compassionate, pet-first care directly to customers’ homes, helping pets live clean, happy and healthy lives.
Vision: The brand is working to expand a nationwide network of mobile grooming professionals while maintaining a pet-first approach built around convenience, comfort and quality care.
For prospective franchisees, the Zoomin Groomin model offers several notable advantages:
Zoomin Groomin is expanding nationally, but territory availability changes as new franchises are awarded. Each territory generally contains a minimum population of approximately 125,000 residents and is defined through ZIP codes, natural boundaries or political boundaries.
Prospective owners can enter their ZIP code on the Zoomin Groomin franchise website to check current territory availability.
Initial Costs: The estimated initial investment required to begin operation of a Zoomin Groomin franchise ranges from $64,974 to $205,400. The 2026 Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD) breaks these costs down as follows:
| Type of Expenditure | Min | Max |
| Franchise Fee | $45,000 | $45,000 |
| Initial Advertising | $500 | $5,000 |
| Travel, Food & Lodging for Training | $500 | $2,000 |
| Vehicle Purchase & Upfit | $9,274 | $130,000 |
| Tools, Inventory & Supplies | $200 | $1,000 |
| Computer Equipment, Services & Software | $500 | $1,500 |
| Licenses & Permits | $400 | $2,500 |
| Insurance | $2,000 | $3,000 |
| Professional Fees — Legal & Accounting | $1,500 | $3,500 |
| Mobile Telecommunications Services | $100 | $400 |
| Facility | $0 | $1,500 |
| Additional Funds (3 Months) | $5,000 | $10,000 |
The largest variable is the vehicle. Franchisees must purchase or lease at least one vehicle meeting Zoomin Groomin specifications and have it professionally upfitted with grooming equipment and branded graphics. The FDD says franchisees typically use a Ram ProMaster 3500 or Ford Transit Cargo Van with a high roof and extended wheelbase. The low end of the investment assumes leasing, while the high end assumes purchasing the vehicle.
Initial Franchise Fee: The initial franchise fee is $45,000, generally payable when the franchise agreement is signed and before the franchisee attends initial training.
Current franchisees in good standing with an affiliated brand may qualify for a reduced $10,000 franchise fee when purchasing a Zoomin Groomin territory overlapping their existing affiliate-brand territory, subject to availability and approval. Qualified veterans and first responders receive a 10% discount on the initial franchise fee.
Ongoing Fees: According to the 2026 FDD, Zoomin Groomin franchisees are responsible for the following primary recurring payments and fees:
Type of Fee | Amount |
| Royalty Fee | Greater of $125 or 8% of gross revenue/week |
| Advertising Fund | 2% of gross revenue/week |
| Technology Fee | $20/week |
| CRM Fee | 1 Van: $135.15/month 2 Vans: $119.25/van/month 3 Vans: $103.35/van/month 4+ Vans: $95.40/van/month |
ROI Potential: According to the 2026 FDD, the 145 Zoomin Groomin vehicles operating for the entirety of 2025 reported the following gross revenue:
| Tertile | Average | Median | High | Low |
| Top 1/3 (49) | $232,998 | $224,041 | $328,889 | $194,217 |
| Middle 1/3 (48) | $171,729 | $170,772 | $193,122 | $147,820 |
| Bottom 1/3 (48) | $109,364 | $116,235 | $147,727 | $43,593 |
| Total (145) | $171,789 | $170,979 | $328,889 | $43,593 |
Zoomin Groomin provides franchisees with guidance on several key elements of getting the business operational. The franchisor helps owners understand how to hire and train employees, obtain and upfit the grooming vehicle, purchase equipment and signs, acquire opening inventory and identify approved vendors. Franchisees also receive access to the brand’s operations manual.
Because the business does not require an office, traditional site selection is largely unnecessary. Owners can operate from home. If a franchisee chooses to establish an office, Zoomin Groomin must approve the location before the franchisee signs a lease.
Zoomin Groomin provides initial training within 60 days of signing the franchise agreement. Training takes place over three days in Virginia Beach, another designated training location or online, at the franchisor’s discretion.
Franchisees are not charged a training fee, although they are responsible for travel, lodging, transportation, meals and employee wages associated with attending. Successful completion is required before opening.
After opening, franchisees can receive assistance with operational problems and issues, marketing and additional training or seminars. The franchisor can also make pricing recommendations based on industry standards and local market rates, although franchisees ultimately establish their own prices.
Marketing support includes a corporate webpage featuring the franchisee’s contact information, digital marketing, social media, digital advertising opportunities and templates for flyers, coupons and other print materials. Zoomin Groomin also operates an advertising fund supported by a 2% gross revenue contribution. In 2025, the fund spent 100% of its expenditures on social media, text messaging, other media placement and marketing overhead.
Zoomin Groomin requires franchisees to maintain specified computer hardware, software, POS and CRM systems. Current hardware requirements include a desktop computer with monitor and internet access, printer/scanner and cellular-enabled iPad or tablet. The FDD estimates these items can be purchased for less than $1,500.
Franchisees also receive digital access to the operations manual through a web-based portal. The manual and related portal materials comprise approximately 532 pages of webpages, PDFs, templates, images, video and audio content.
Zoomin Groomin does not specify any requirements for franchisees with regard to liquid assets or net worth.
The model does not require franchise owners themselves to be groomers. Operationally, however, owners need to be prepared to oversee staffing, customer service, marketing, financial management and the overall performance of their territory.
Zoomin Groomin requires either the franchisee or a fully trained and qualified manager to personally supervise and participate in the day-to-day operation of the business. Owners must devote appropriate time, attention and effort to their obligations under the franchise agreement.
This means a manager-led structure is possible. A franchisee can designate a business manager, subject to franchisor approval. That manager must have complete decision-making authority for the business and successfully complete initial and ongoing training. The franchisee nevertheless remains responsible for the business.
Each territory must operate at least one grooming vehicle, but franchisees may operate additional vehicles within the same territory.
Zoomin Groomin does not directly or indirectly offer financing arrangements and does not guarantee franchisees’ notes, leases or other obligations.

The U.S. pet grooming services market is expected to reach approximately $2.16 billion in 2025 and is projected to grow to $2.99 billion by 2030, reflecting a CAGR of 6.7%. This steady growth is being driven by rising pet ownership, increased spending on premium grooming services and the ongoing humanization of pets — especially among millennial and Gen Z consumers. As more pet owners seek convenient, boutique-style experiences and specialized care like breed-specific grooming and natural products, demand for professional grooming services continues to climb. The North American market accounts for more than 40% of global grooming revenue, signaling a strong and growing opportunity for brands focused exclusively on pet grooming.
Zoomin Groomin differentiates itself through a mobile, home-service model that combines convenience with individualized, cage-free grooming. One notable advantage for Zoomin Groomin is its relatively lean mobile model because owners can operate from home and deploy vans rather than build out a full grooming salon.
Major competitors in the broader grooming and mobile grooming space include Aussie Pet Mobile/Bark & Mane, Furry Land Mobile Grooming, Woofie’s, Barkbus, Groomit, Scenthound and Woof Gang Bakery & Grooming.
Zoomin Groomin says most owners can move from their initial conversation to serving their first paying customer within approximately three to four months. The current franchise development site outlines the following path:
Prospective franchisees can begin the process and check current territory availability through the Zoomin Groomin franchise opportunity website.
