Capitalizing on the momentum built up after its most successful year of growth ever in 2015, Pita Pit, the fresh thinking, healthy eating brand, is set to open its 600th global location in central Washington State tomorrow. This milestone follows the celebration of the brand’s 20th anniversary last summer.

According to Pita Pit USA President Corey Bowman in a recent press release, the 600th worldwide store is a testament to the brand continuing to meet the needs of consumers that are demanding healthier alternatives to fast food. That demand is also fueling franchise growth.

“2015 was a landmark year and the momentum is clearly carrying over into 2016, with plans to open at least another 45 new locations through our growing franchise community,” said Bowman in the press release.

The new Quincy owners Joel Martin and his business partner Brandon Scapman discovered the brand after dining in a nearby Pita Pit restaurant and decided to bring the concept back with them. According to Martin, Pita Pit is built upon the foundation of developing a strong relationship with its customers, and after he saw that firsthand, he knew it was a business that would allow him and Scapman to connect with their community.

The Quincy opening continues Pita Pit’s record setting growth trend. In 2015, the brand opened 35 new locations, boosted its presence nationwide, and opened in 10 previously untouched markets including Cleveland, San Antonio, Kansas City and Houston. Pita Pit also strengthened its franchisee base as well after closing 2015 with more than 40 percent of Pita Pit franchisees classified as multi-unit owners.

Bowman credits the brand’s growth to the investments Pita Pit has made back into its system. Franchisee training and the streamlining of internal departments built to support the franchisee network has equipped both new franchisees and multi-unit owners with tools to successfully expand.

Since opening its first restaurant in the U.S. in 1999, Pita Pit has continued to be one of the fastest growing fast-casual restaurant franchises in the country. Pita Pit plans to surpass its record-breaking year of growth in 2015 by another 10 percent in 2016. Forty-five new locations in at least six new markets is the current objective for development. Currently, Pita Pit has restaurants in 13 countries including the United States, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, United Kingdom, Trinidad and Tobago, India, Brazil, Panama, Saudi Arabia, France, Singapore and Dubai.
