The need for in-home care is on the rise, and Right at Home, the in-home care franchise with over 700 locations in the U.S. and five other countries, is working to hire 26,000 non-medical caregivers in the U.S. alone to meet that demand. CEO Margaret Haynes and Franchisee Renee Pfister joined McKnights Home Care “Newsmakers” podcast to discuss the system’s strategies for growth.

“As our client base is growing, we’re just on the cusp of this big boom of clients that are going to need our services that we equally need to care for,” Haynes said on the podcast. “We can’t add more clients without adding more caregivers … Based on the growth that we’re expecting to see this year, we need to add another 26,000 caregivers into the mix throughout the year.”

Haynes noted that caregivers can come from all walks of life. Because Right at Home offers robust training, anyone with a true passion for the industry can step into a caregiving role with the company.

To increase awareness of the opportunities with Right at Home, the system is using new recruitment tactics, focusing on engaging the people who will be a great fit for the role.

“We’re continually engaging previous employees so that when it’s time for them to come back to work, they’re choosing Right at Home,” said Pfister. “We’re continuing to engage applicants that maybe didn’t follow through with the process so that when it’s time for them to start work, they are engaging with Right at Home … We’re always meeting people where they’re at to get them to be a part of our family.”
