Both Elrod and Simmons emphasize the importance of franchisee profitability and operator perspective in decision-making. Their goal is to enhance Uni K Wax's market position, which they believe stands out in the waxing industry for its superior service and unique wax formulation. Investments have already been made to improve marketing and communication strategies.

Uni K Wax, founded by Noemi Grupenmager and franchising since 2007, boasts strong economic performance, with franchisees showing keen interest in opening more locations. In terms of ROI, top Uni K Wax studios grossed over $1.3 million in 2023, with the system’s top studio grossing $1.7 million, according to the brand’s FDD. 

Uni K Wax enhances the waxing process for all parties involved, including clients, staff and franchisees. The signature ElastiKWax™, made of beeswax and a unique pine tree resin, offers a natural, eco-friendly alternative to conventional painful waxing methods. The nature of the wax facilitates faster, simultaneous waxing of multiple body areas, allows for higher frequency of the service and requires less space per room. Each studio also houses a Wax Lab™, overseen by a technician, ensuring precise wax preparation and reduced waste. Every client also receives a personalized wax warmer. Waxers, certified from Uni K University, are extensively trained to guarantee consistent, high-quality results during each appointment.

Now, fueled by the acquisition, Uni K Wax aims to increase customer trials and existing customer frequency through new package options and membership models. Operational focus includes ensuring sufficient staffing to handle increased capacity. 

The brand, currently in Florida, New York, New Jersey, and Texas, is also exploring expansion into Arizona and the Carolinas.
