April Job Growth Hits 3-Year Low
According to the ADP National Employment Report, April added the fewest number of jobs since 2013. Last month only 156,000 new positions were created, which is significantly down from the 194,000 jobs created in March and the expected 195,000 analysts predicted. Of the jobs created, small businesses with fewer than 50 employees, added the most with 93,000 jobs generated.


FDA Releases Menu Labeling Guidelines
Last week, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) released the finalized guidelines on menu labeling. The new labeling guidelines are meant to help offer clarity and guidance on previous menu labeling requirements. From the date of the announcement, FDA regulators are delaying enforcement of the menu labeling regulations for one year. To help the establishments affected by this, the FDA had committed to offering webinars and menu labeling workshops to help restaurants and other businesses comply.


Burger King Puts a Ring On It
First, there was the chicken nugget, then chicken fries, now Burger King is adding another addition to its chicken offerings. The fast food brand has recently released chicken fries rings—that’s right, rings. The new chicken fries rings feature all-white meat chicken coated in a light, crispy breading and look like onion rings. According to the brand, chicken has been a big reason why consumers to head to Burger King.


Freebirds Introduces New Food Truck
The franchise brand, Freebirds has introduced a new food truck concept that they hope will boost sales in Texas. The truck will debut on May 7 and 8, at the Lone Star Jam in Austin. After that, the company plans on using the truck across the U.S. to promote openings. The truck will have some of the same offerings as the brick-and-mortar stores for customers to enjoy.


Caribou Chills Out With Three New Coolers
This summer, fans of Caribou Coffee can enjoy three new blended iced beverages. The new Cooler flavors for summer are Mint Chocolate, Salted Caramel, and Raspberry. In addition to the new summer flavors, customers can customize their Coolers with a variety of flavors.
