19,400 Franchise Jobs Added in May

The U.S. economy added 19,400 private-sector franchise jobs during the month of May. The ADP National Franchise Report shows that franchise employment growth was up by one-third this May compared to April. The most growth occurred in the restaurant and auto repair sectors.

Pizza Hut to Remove More Artificial Ingredients

Pizza Hut has announced plans to remove even more artificial ingredients from their pizzas in the next year. This comes after Pizza Hut removed artificial flavors and colors from their pizzas last year. Moving forward, the company is planning on removing the preservatives BHA and BHT from all its meat next month. They have also announced artificial preservatives in cheese will be removed and chicken toppings will be free of human antibiotics next year.

McDonald’s Heading to The Windy City

According to Crain’s Chicago Business, McDonald’s Corp., may be moving the brand’s corporate headquarters back to Chicago. The Oak Brook, Illinois-based chain is looking at moving the company to Chicago’s West Loop into a structure built on Oprah Winfrey’s former Harpo Studios campus. Previously, the brand was looking to move into the Second City’s Prudential Building but halted the deal. This move would bring McDonald’s back to the city after 45 years.

Mobile Ordering Now Available at Chick-fil-A

Fans of the brand Chick-fil-A will now be able to order and pay then pick up their orders through the chain’s new mobile app. After ordering and paying through the app, customers can check into their location and the food will be prepared and ready for them to enjoy at the pick-up counter. For customers who ordering ahead of time, the company has rolled a new rewards program into the mobile app. Customers who sign up will be rewarded with their favorite menu items based on previous orders for free. As customers order through the app, they can earn more rewards.

Benzer Pharmacy Adds First Franchisee

After launching the brand’s franchise model earlier this year, Benzer Pharmacy has signed their first franchisee. Tampa entrepreneur Tony Kalia signed the franchise agreement during the last week of May. Benzer Pharmacy had announced plans to open 600 stores through its franchise model.
