Be on the Run with Dunkin’

Customers can now skip the line at Dunkin’ Donuts when they order and pay ahead using the brand’s new national loyalty app. The Dunkin’ Donuts On-The-Go app allows fans to skip the line for pickup on orders placed and paid for on the application at 11,000 locations across the U.S. The new app will put the brand in competition with rival Starbucks who introduced the pay ahead and pick up option last year. Later this year, Dunkin’ Donuts will be testing curbside delivery at non-drive-thru locations.

Jimmy John’s Sued by Illinois AG

A lawsuit has been filed against Jimmy John’s from the Illinois Attorney General. The lawsuit alleges the company imposes “highly restrictive non-compete agreements on its employees.” The Office of the Attorney General claims that all Jimmy John’s employees are required to sign a non-compete agreement as a condition of employment. The agreement would bar employees from working at another sub shop, or company that derives 10 percent of sales from selling “submarine, hero-type, deli-style, pita, and/or wrapped or rolled sandwiches” for two years after leaving the company.

It’s a Whopper! It’s a Burrito! It’s a Whopperrito!

Have you ever wondered what you get when you cross a Whopper with a burrito? Now you can find out. Well, if you’re in Hermitage, Pennsylvania; Warren, Ohio; and select locations in Texas. Burger King is testing the burger-taco mash up, the Whopperrito, at a local franchisee level. The new hybrid features the elements of a Whopper, including flame-grilled beef, cheese, tomatoes, lettuce, mayo, ketchup, pickles and diced onion, that are disassembled, spiced up and wrapped up in a flour tortilla.

Blink Fitness wants gym-goers to focus on their mood, not the mirror when it comes to working out. That’s why the franchise fitness brand is implementing “Monday Without Mirrors.” The program is part of the “Every Body Happy” campaign. Every Monday, the gym covers mirrors with paper so customers don’t focus on the way they look while working out. While the program is being met with mixed reviews the company is standing by “Monday Without Mirrors.”

Fans of Caribou Coffee can now enjoy iced coffee on the go. The brand’s new ready-to-drink Caribou Premium Iced Coffee is expanding nationwide. The new iced coffee is available in three flavors: Chocolate Mocha, Vanilla, and Sea Salt Caramel. The Caribou Premium Iced Coffee is available at grocery and convenience stores nationwide, in addition to Caribou coffeehouses.
