Amazing Lash Studio Franchisee Sunida Parkin Is Beautifying Sherman Oaks, California One Lash at a Time

The Amazing Lash Studio® brand continues to grow its footprint as the nation’s leading eyelash extension service thanks to franchisees like Sunida Parkin of the San Fernando Valley.

After graduating from the University of California, Santa Barbara, Parkin moved to Los Angeles, where she started her family. She found her niche in the beauty and fashion industry, first working for Benefit Cosmetics, and then becoming an event planner for Maserati and working in advertising for an IPG company. As her career grew in the corporate world, Parkin always found herself drawn back to the beauty industry.

After her kids were born, Parkin left her corporate career to raise her children. As her kids got older, however, she found herself wanting to get back into the workforce.

“As a woman who spent a few years not working, it was a challenge to get back into the corporate world, so I told my husband we should get into franchising, “ said Parkin.

“We went to a franchising expo, and right away I was drawn to the bright pink Amazing Lash Studio sign,” she continued. “By the end of that month, I booked a flight to go to a Meet the Team Day with the Amazing Lash Studio brand.”

Parkin instantly connected with the community she felt among other women entrepreneurs at the Amazing Lash Studio brand. “I loved meeting Heather Elrod, the CEO of Amazing Lash Franchise, LLC and appreciated that we have a female executive leading the brand. I felt that she understood where I was coming from, being a woman in the workplace,” Parkin said.

Since opening her first Sherman Oaks studio in November of 2019, Parkin couldn’t be happier with the services the Amazing Lash Studio brand provides. “I love that moment when a client opens her eyes for the first time after getting lashes and sees them. Having the opportunity to see that feeling of confidence and helping them feel even more beautiful is so rewarding,” Parkin said.
 

The services that Amazing Lash Studio locations provide are also unique to the area. “There is competition all over Sherman Oaks, but there is a need for our Amazing Lash Studio space and services,” said Parkin. “No one else provides the level of customer service that we do. Other lash artistry studios often don’t give people what they really want. We make clients feel like so much more than a customer, and how you make them feel and their experience at our studio is what matters most.”

As a working mom, being a franchisee with the Amazing Lash Studio brand has also provided Parkin with the freedom to make her own schedule, a perk that she says  has been invaluable.

“I love the flexibility owning an Amazing Lash Studio location offers; being able to be a mom that also has a career,” said Parkin. “I can jump into the business, but I also know that if I need to leave, I have a solid manager handling things at the studio.”

While her first studio is still in its first year of operation, Parkin is already considering expansion in other areas around the market.
