Apex Franchise Development Group | EXECUTIVE Q&A
Ryan Rao, Founder
Why is it important for brands to work with a franchise business development group?
It’s important because it’s a skillset first-time franchisors do not have and it’s important for them to partner with someone with franchise expertise to help them navigate the development schedule of growing an emerging brand.
The same point can be made with early-stage franchises who have yet to make that 50 unit count. We can come in and assess why they have not scaled and asses what infrastructures need to be put in place in order to set them up for growth.
You need the franchise skill set in order to develop into a large franchise brand and that’s where we can help.
How does Apex stand out in the industry?
We’re truly a concept's partner, we're not a broker. Not only are we your partner, we truly understand how to operate a franchise system.
Our leadership experience is second to none. Our partnership team has served on the board of numerous private and public entities and have firsthand experience taking franchise concepts from four to 400 units.
What advantages does Apex provide franchises given its expertise in the industry?
We’re looking to build a sustainable franchise model for franchisees and the franchisor. We’re not looking to sell to everyone and anyone. We’re looking to create the infrastructure to entice the right partners for brands. We want to be partners in growing the brand.
How does Apex's suite of services set franchises up for success?
Our suite of services really starts prior to becoming a franchise. First, we identify the organization chart necessary to support the growth of the business. Then, we identify how many locations we are planning for expansion and who is the ideal franchise owner. We put together all paperwork including FDDs operating manuals and training programs. All of these are put in place to attract the most successful candidate in the field.
We’re very boutique and selective with who we choose as our partners. We’re not looking to become a company who wants to work with too many brands. We want to work with brands who will be successful in developing into executives of a franchise system.
