Leading retail franchise Batteries Plus Bulbs is looking to grow its footprint in Massachusetts, with Lowell as one target market for expansion. John Twist, Batteries Plus Bulbs vice president of franchise development, told Lowell Sun reporter Hannah Manning that population density, "very strong business counts" and household income make it a prime market to support a Batteries Plus Bulbs franchise. Batteries Plus Bulbs is also seeking to expand in nearby Leominster, Worcester, Auburn and Milford.
