Buffalo Wings & Rings, based in Cincinnati, Ohio, hopes to move west and expand to the Dakotas within the next few years. Since its rebranding in 2011, business has been booming for the brand, with sales growing at an average of 13 percent each year in recent years.
In his interview with Capital Journal, Philip Schram, vice president of development at Buffalo Wings & Rings, explained the brand’s franchising strategy.
“We want to be the employer of choice. That’s why we’re very careful with who we hire to be a franchisee...When you have good people, you attract good people,” he said.
In choosing franchise locations, Schram explained that Buffalo Wings & Rings aims to find communities that are hubs for surrounding smaller communities. Pierre fit that mold, and seemed like the perfect place to break new ground.
“It seems [Pierre] is the right size for us,” Schram continued.
Once a new Buffalo Wings & Rings location is chosen and a franchisee is found and trained, the process includes one more year of finding a location, building the restaurant and training the staff.
