Experienced restaurateur partners with business investor to build four restaurants across Miami.

Checkers & Rally’s Restaurants, Inc. (Checkers®), an iconic restaurant chain, continues to expand its footprint by attracting business-savvy entrepreneurs seeking to join one of the fastest growing QSR brands. The newest members to partner with the Checkers team are Alejandro Aguilar and Ariel Pellado, who have committed to opening four new restaurants in the Miami market over the next two years.

Aguilar and Pellado became business partners over a year ago with their company, Miami Business Consulting. Pellado joins the team with a vast business portfolio, and a desire to contribute to the success of Checkers with his business acumen. Aguilar joins the team with extensive experience in restaurant operations. His career began in Venezuela, where he made his way up the ranks at McDonald’s from restaurant employee to Financial Planning Manager. As the youngest corporate manager at the age of 26, Aguilar eventually oversaw more than 60 restaurants across four countries. In addition to working for a major corporation, Aguilar also co-owned an independent Japanese restaurant.

“Checkers continues to bring great flavor and value to more communities across the nation thanks to partnerships with successful business owners such as Alejandro and Ariel,” said Jennifer Durham, Vice President of Franchise Development for Checkers & Rally’s Restaurants, Inc. “Based on the duo’s experience in the QSR industry and knowledge of real estate in the Miami market, I’m confident that Alejandro and Ariel will thrive with Checkers.”

Checkers will be Aguilar and Pellado’s first venture together in the restaurant industry, and the business partners planto create employment opportunities in the community by building at least four restaurants over the course of two years.

“Checkers is a relatively small company in a huge sector, which equates to more opportunities for growth for entrepreneurs such as myself,” Aguilar said. “After meeting with the corporate team, I was very impressed by the range of experience that each member brought to the table. While Ariel and I have knowledge in running a successful business, we also wanted a strong support system, which we’re confident that Checkers can offer.”

Checkers continues to add craveable menu selections and introduce daring flavors to its fans. Options such as Monsterella Stix, Cold Creations and the original Big Buford® aim to bring the freshest ingredients and boldest flavors to hungry guests. The company continues to innovate, and remains true to its commitment to provide “Crazy Good Food” at an exceptional value.

“The Checkers franchise opportunity continues to draw interest from business-savvy entrepreneurs who see our constant menu innovation and growth potential in new and existing markets as a recipe for success,” Durham said. “This new development highlights the support that Checkers provides for franchisees of varying backgrounds to build a successful restaurant business.”
