CHOP5, an emerging fast-casual salad concept that aims to redefine the healthy eating experience, is gearing up to expand its business model through franchising.

Columbus Business First reports the brand has hired Conscious Capital Growth, a franchise advisory company, to help kick-start its franchise expansion. According to the outlet, CHOP5 is hoping to begin interviewing potential franchise candidates as early as spring, and wants to line up at least five new locations in the next year.

“We’re not going to go out and sell 300 stores,” said CHOP5 co-founder Brian Mills. “With some concepts I think there’s a sense of, ‘Just get someone to write a check.’ What we’re looking for is partners, people who’ll come in and share our vision because at the end of the day, they’re driving the business. We know that because that was us.”

CHOP5’s leadership team consists of experienced franchisees who have operated other restaurant concepts, including more than 100 Papa John’s units.

“We are franchisees. That’s our DNA,” Mills said. “We wanted to create a franchise that we’d want to run.”
