International Workplace Group (IWG), the world's largest provider of flexible workspace solutions with more than 3,500 locations in over 123 countries worldwide, is stepping in to help workers find the balance they need with a hybrid workspace following the shifting landscape of the post-COVID world. As part of this mission, Mark Dixon, CEO of IWG, says that the flexible workspace company is witnessing a major change in the commercial real estate industry due to the pandemic recovery. Most notably, he says that smaller suburban markets are recovering faster due to more people working from home or from flexible workspaces in their local communities.

“The sector we are in — the flex end of the market — is going to be the corner of the real estate industry that recovers more quickly,” said Dixon. “There will be problems overall in the real estate industry worldwide, especially with concentrations in city centers. But it will be a tale of two cities — with downtown, concentrated, commuter-led areas suffering, and the out-of-town suburbs doing very well as the golden child of the future.”

IWG caters to the hybrid workplace model and gives workers the choice and flexibility they desire. The company has major plans for growth in these suburban markets to benefit both workers and their employers.
