Coldwell Banker Now Waiving Franchise Fee for Veterans, Minorities and More

The brokerage is waiving franchise fees for certain groups in an effort to boost diversity.

Coldwell Banker announced a diversity initiative this week that involves waiving franchise fees for veterans and minorities, according to a report in The Real Deal.

Coldwell Banker is also now waiving franchise fees for women and those who identify as LGBT, according to the article. Additionally, Coldwell Banker will provide financial assistance, mentorship opportunities and more to these groups, according to the article.

“I strongly believe that one of the best things we can do to increase homeownership in underrepresented communities is to increase access to and understanding of programs and information related to buying and owning a home,” Coldwell Banker CEO Ryan Gorman said in a blog post. “As an industry, that means increasing diversity and representation among brokerage owners.”

While franchise fee waivers for women and veterans, for example, are not unheard of, they are more likely to come in the form of a limited time offer. This is worth noting because there is plenty of literature out there to indicate that both veterans and women make excellent franchising candidates. After all, all you really do in the military is follow orders and prepare for a variety of situations. And do we need to mention the fact that women must juggle multiple tasks and responsibilities on an hourly basis in order to keep their families, careers and selves afloat?

Of course we do.
