The struggle of balancing family and work was a big one,” Vieau said. “But, I would also say that being a mom, wife and teacher has lent itself well to being in this business.”She leveraged her experience to focus on local engagement, building relationships with schools, moms’ groups and community organizations. “I would go to schools and deliver appetizers, as well as flyers for spirit nights, to-go menus, catering menus and free personal pizza cards for the front office staff,” she said. “We reached out to youth sports directors about sponsorship and hosting spirit nights.”Vieau credits Crust Pizza Co.’s leadership for their unwavering support. “Carl, Mark, Nick and our marketing director have been quick to respond to any email, text or phone call,” she said. “They have created a system that runs very smoothly.”<h2>Leah Zang: A Franchisee Creating Her Own Legacy</h2>Leah Zang spent years in the finance industry as an accounts receivable manager before transitioning into business ownership. Wanting to set an entrepreneurial example for her children, she and her husband, an engineer in the oil industry, chose Crust Pizza Co. for its strong family and community values.“My husband has always been a role model for our sons. They look up to him, eager to learn about the world through his experiences,” Zang said. “I wanted to create my own legacy — one that my children could see, touch and be proud of.”Zang faced the challenge of transitioning from finance to the restaurant industry but found strength in mentorship and family support. “My two kids love Crust Pizza, and when I decided to join the franchise, I had their full support,” she said. “Knowing that I wasn’t alone and had my entire family behind me made the journey even more meaningful and fulfilling.”Crust Pizza Co. helped make the transition smoother. “Their comprehensive training programs helped me transition smoothly from an accounting background to restaurant management,” Zang said. “The corporate team provided valuable guidance on operations, marketing and staffing, ensuring I had the tools needed to succeed.”<h2>Susan Harte: A Passion for Hospitality and Community</h2>Susan Harte first visited the original Crust Pizza Co. in Panther Creek shortly after it opened, and it quickly became a family favorite. When her husband suggested franchising with the brand, it was an easy decision.“We knew and loved the concept — high-quality fresh ingredients, excellent customer service, and a family-friendly atmosphere,” she said.Like many franchise owners, she faced the challenge of balancing her business, career and family. “We continue to work to build a quality team that we can rely on,” Harte said, “yet understand the importance of being present and equally involved in the day-to-day business.”Harte’s background in education and community involvement has complemented her business approach. “My personal interests are in alignment with Crust Pizza Co.’s commitment to community engagement and involvement,” she said. “I serve as an Education Foundation board member in the area school district, and our franchise supports community events sponsored by the chamber of commerce, school district and other local organizations.”For Harte, the most rewarding part of business ownership has been the relationships built along the way. “I love the customers,” she said. “It has been wonderful to get to know the local community and build relationships with regular customers.”<h2>Recognizing the Women of Crust Pizza Co.</h2>The success of Crust Pizza Co. is shaped by the dedication and leadership of women like Vieau, Zang and Harte.
