Chipotle attracted nationwide attention when the company announced that it was testing queso at select locations. And now, according to a recent article in Fast Casual, the new menu item is set to launch nationwide on September 12th.
The company says that queso has been a common request that they have heard from consumers over the years, but due to additives in traditional recipes, they have stayed away from the dip in the past. Chipotle says that they have created a recipe that does not call for these artificial flavors.
"Our queso may vary slightly depending on the characteristics of the aged cheddar cheese used in each batch, but using only real ingredients is what makes our food so delicious," said CEO Steve Ells.
