After signing, the new franchisee is paired up with a construction and development team for site selection and construction as well as members of the franchisee support team to ensure that all of the necessary information regarding vendors, activation and post-opening processes is available.While the building is coming together, Michael Orwig, Fitness Premier’s director of people development will work to train both the franchisee and their team, providing learning at the Fitness Premier corporate office and on-site.&nbsp;“Not only do we help you with your initial staff selection and training, we have three different touch points per week where we’re training franchisees and staff,” Hettiger said. “On top of three touch points per week, we do monthly masterminds, which are full-blown three hour leadership seminars, along with a quarterly summit that’s more of a fun, engaging way to get outside the club.”Fitness Premier can afford to allocate this time to franchisee development because of the technological support and solutions it has in place. There is a corporate support center that will activate a turnkey accounting, human resources and payroll solution while franchisees and staff are being trained, and this center continues to manage things like vendor communications and member support. This allows franchisees to pivot from the many moving parts and instead focus on their overarching business goals and what they hope to achieve within their communities.“The back office support and leadership training and development that you get with us is just second to none,” Hettiger said.
