Fitness Premier 24/7 Clubs Encourages Children’s Fitness with Youth Summer Training Camp Program
Fitness Premier is hosting a Youth Summer Training Camp across its locations in Illinois this summer, aimed at instilling healthy lifestyle habits and good fitness strategies in children.
Fitness Premier 24/7 Clubs, the leading full-service gym franchise with 19 locations and counting, will be hosting a Youth Summer Training Camp that covers a wide range of fitness aspects, including strength, agility, balance, functional training, core exercises and overall athletic performance. The camp, taking place at various Fitness Premier locations across Illinois, aims to empower children and instill healthy lifestyle habits at an early age.
Keegan Mraz is the Operating Partner of the Fitness Premier locations in Bourbonnais and Manteno, Illinois. Mraz believes it is vital to develop a strong foundation for a child’s fitness journey early on. As such, he explains that for participants aged seven to 12, the program at Manteno focuses on fundamental movements, mobility training, speed and agility, and basic strength exercises to ensure proper form and technique. According to Mraz, providing guidance in the early stages of a child’s life sets them up for future success.
“It’s very important for children to have a lot of guidance in the beginning. Whether it’s strength training, speed, agility or just making sure they’re doing the workouts properly, it’s extremely beneficial to them,” said Mraz.
Alexis Knake is the regional operator for the Fitness Premier locations in Champaign, Monticello, and Mahomet, Illinois. She echoed the sentiment from Mraz and also believes that introducing structure into a child’s life at an early age is vital to their overall health and well-being.
“The sooner you add structure into your life, the easier it’ll be as you get older,” Knake said. “So many times, I see people who come to the gym that are older who wish they would’ve started getting better in shape when they were younger. We’re giving children the knowledge to allow them to lead healthier lives.”
Fitness Premier’s Youth Summer Training Camp is designed to be inclusive and doesn’t have a specific skill requirement needed for children to participate. Mraz and Knake say the program’s primary goal is to make fitness enjoyable and accessible to children while imparting valuable lessons about nutrition and fostering a healthier lifestyle from a young age. They understand that gyms often struggle to provide suitable options for younger age groups, and as such, wanted to create a space where children can focus on their athletic development.
The training sessions included in the program vary based on location but are all carefully curated to provide an engaging and effective experience that will contribute to a child’s overall fitness journey.
The Youth Summer Training Camp is currently open for enrollment. Parents can enroll their children by reaching out to Fitness Premier via Instagram, Facebook, phone or in person. It’s important to note that parents do not need to be current members to sign their children up for the program. Additionally, Fitness Premier offers flexible options for parents to accommodate their preferences and needs. Parents have the choice to pay for their children to attend a single class or multiple sessions based on their availability and interests.
The program is available at various locations across Illinois, each with its own set of dates. In Morris, the camp runs from June 13 to July 8, with a second session from July 18 to August 12. In Minooka, participants can join from June 5 to June 30 or choose the July 3 to July 28 session. Mahomet hosts the camp from June 12 to July 21. In Manteno and Bourbonnais, the program spans from June 5 to June 30 and again from July 3 to July 28.
