GYMGUYZ is a trailblazer in the fitness industry, offering in-home and on-site personal training services that bring the gym experience directly to clients.

GYMGUYZ is a franchise that aims to revolutionize the fitness industry by creating a new category of personal training that delivers high-quality workouts to clients at home, in the office or at any location of their choice.
Josh York founded GYMGUYZ in 2008, but his journey toward creating the mobile personal training business began long before. During his high school hockey days, York realized the positive impact fitness had on his performance and overall well-being. While earning his bachelor’s degree, he worked as a personal trainer at local gyms, where he observed the inconsistency of clients who struggled to balance their schedules with regular gym visits. Recognizing this gap in the fitness industry, York envisioned a solution: a mobile fitness service that brings workouts directly to clients, allowing them to exercise at home, in the office or any location of their choice.
With a background in marketing and a passion for fitness, York launched GYMGUYZ from his parents' dining room in 2008. Armed with a single van stocked with workout equipment and a vision to offer personalized fitness programs, he built the business from the ground up. Initially managing everything himself — training clients, marketing the brand and driving around Long Island to promote the business — York’s efforts quickly paid off. What began with just one van and a handful of clients soon grew into the world’s largest in-home and on-site personal training company, redefining fitness by offering convenience and flexibility.
Today, GYMGUYZ boasts 174 locations across the country.
GYMGUYZ operates on an in-home and on-site personal training business model, offering personalized fitness services directly to clients without the need for a brick-and-mortar facility. Franchisees manage a team of certified trainers who provide a variety of fitness services, from weight loss to senior fitness and professional sports conditioning. The business model is built on flexibility, allowing clients to choose when and where they want to work out, and it caters to individual and group sessions as well as corporate fitness programs.
This model provides franchisees with a lower overhead compared to traditional gyms, while capitalizing on the growing demand for personalized fitness solutions. The mobile nature of the business allows franchise owners to scale quickly without the need for large upfront investments in physical spaces.
GYMGUYZ does not publicly disclose specific earnings for franchise owners. However, with the growing demand for flexible fitness solutions and the brand’s established reputation, franchisees have significant potential for profitability, particularly as personal training continues to be a high-demand service.
The initial investment required to open a GYMGUYZ franchise ranges from $92,100 to $174,000. This includes:
The initial franchise fee for GYMGUYZ is $49,500 for a territory with 30,000 households. Franchisees are required to pay a 7% royalty fee on gross revenue and a 2% brand development fee.
