In a viral marketing campaign, Domino&rsquo;s offered customers up to 100 free pizzas a year for 100 years if customers branded themselves with the Domino&rsquo;s logo on a visible part of their body and posted it on social media. 

The promotion that was supposed to run through the end of October really took off, forcing Domino&rsquo;s to cap the number of accepted winners at 350. <a href="https://munchies.vice.com/en_us/article/a3q57k/dominos-overwhelmed-by-huge-number-of-russians-willing-to-get-pizza-tattoos?utm_source=munchiestwitterus&utm_source=1851franchise.com&utm_medium=article&utm_campaign=free-pizza-stunt-backfires-for-dominos-in-russia-when-too-many-customers-get-tattoos-2707821" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" style="text-decoration-line:none" target="_blank">Munchies noted</a> that if the brand fulfilled even half of what they&rsquo;ve guaranteed, by their math, the promotion will cost $14 million in free pizza. &nbsp;

"The name 'McRib' is a deliberate sleight of hand. By including the word ‘Rib’ in the name of the sandwich, McDonald's knowingly markets the sandwich in a way that deceives reasonable consumers, who reasonably (but mistakenly) believe that a product named the 'McRib' will include at least some meaningful quantity of actual pork rib meat, which commands a premium price on the market," the lawsuit said.
