3. What Franchisee Support Does Jazzercise Provide?

Pre-Opening Support

Before opening, Jazzercise franchisees complete a structured onboarding process designed to prepare them for both instruction and business ownership. The brand provides guided support as new owners work through certification requirements, business setup and launch preparation to ensure they are ready to begin teaching and marketing their classes with confidence.

Training Programs

Jazzercise requires franchisees to complete a five-week virtual instructor training program led by dedicated Training Specialists. The program includes personalized mentoring, movement screening, audition video coaching and choreography practice. This structured approach ensures franchisees are fully prepared to deliver the Jazzercise format safely and effectively while building confidence in front of clients.

Operational Support

Franchisees receive ongoing business guidance from the Jazzercise Business Support Team, along with access to a global peer network of fellow instructors and owners. The brand provides digital access to choreography and routines, as well as marketing templates, promotional assets and social media guides to help owners consistently attract and retain members.

Technology and Tools

Jazzercise equips franchisees with a digital choreography library and mobile-friendly teaching resources that make it easy to stay current with programming. Owners also receive access to online training modules, livestream classes and Jazzercise On Demand, giving them flexible tools to support both in-person and digital engagement with their communities.

4. What Are the Franchise Requirements for Jazzercise?

Eligibility Criteria

Jazzercise does not require prior dance or fitness instruction experience, but candidates must demonstrate movement ability and a genuine passion for health and fitness. Prospective franchisees are required to complete a movement screening and audition as part of the approval process. Franchisees must also commit to ongoing training and uphold brand standards in both instruction and representation within their communities.

Operational Commitments

Jazzercise is an owner-operator model, meaning franchisees teach their own classes and are actively involved in day-to-day operations. Absentee ownership is not permitted. Owners are expected to dedicate time to choreography practice, class preparation and continued skill development.

Funding Assistance

Jazzercise does not publicly outline formal financing partnerships, so prospective franchisees are generally expected to secure funding independently if needed. Candidates should be prepared to evaluate personal capital resources or explore third-party financing options to meet initial investment requirements.

6. What Is the Market Potential for Fitness Clubs?

The U.S. health and fitness club market continues to show strong long-term growth momentum. According to Future Market Insights, the global health and fitness club market was valued at $119.8 billion in 2025 and is projected to reach $130.2 billion in 2026. By 2036, the market is expected to climb to $296.4 billion, reflecting a compound annual growth rate of 8.6 percent over the forecast period.

Competitor Analysis

Jazzercise differentiates itself through its decades-long brand legacy, strong instructor-led community model and combination of dance-based cardio and strength training in a lower-overhead format. Unlike larger boutique studios that require significant build-out and equipment investments, Jazzercise offers a flexible, instructor-driven model centered on choreography, music and personal connection, which can create strong local loyalty and repeat attendance.

Primary competitors in the boutique and group fitness space include Barre3Pure Barre and Orangetheory Fitness. These brands compete for similar health-conscious consumers seeking structured, instructor-led workouts with a strong community component.
