We started the event with a ribbon-cutting ceremony through the San Antonio Chamber of Commerce, where we also presented San Antonio Pets Alive with a $5,000 donation check to cover the adoption fees for the day. Before the ribbon was cut, our first dog was adopted,” Matt explained. “Before leaving, my family chose a dog to foster that was at high risk for euthanasia, bringing the grand total of saved lives to 34!”The first adoption was celebrated with a “puppy pack” donated by Cavender Auto Group, a local community dealership, which included a Yeti water bowl, Kong toys and other goodies.&nbsp;The Scallys also raffled off a junk removal gift certificate worth $575 and a VIP San Antonio Spurs ticket package worth $1,000. The funds used to purchase raffle tickets amounted to over $400, which will, in turn, be donated to Pets Alive!“We’re proud to have franchise owners like the Scallys in our network. Of course, they’re excited to be working with a company that genuinely supports the military community rather than leveraging Veteran-centric messaging just for marketing, but they aren’t done growing.As the duo grows their JDog Junk Removal &amp; Hauling business, they plan to become pillars in the San Antonio community as well.Because their Grand Opening took place on August 26th, National Dog Day, community engagement through Pets Alive! just made sense. Their future commitments will focus on homelessness and food insecurity.“Homelessness and food scarcity are two initiatives we’ve been trying to become involved with and will continue to push as the business grows. If we can make a name for ourselves in that sector, that would be an accomplishment in year one,” Matt said.With an agreement for a total of three territories, the Scallys plan to build a strong foundation with their Alamo Ranch business, become profitable and begin expanding into their second and third territories within the year.The total investment necessary to begin the operation of a JDog Carpet Cleaning &amp; Floor Care ranges from $37,909 to $169,947, including a $10,000-$25,000 franchise fee.
