As the daughter of&nbsp;<a href="https://www.linkedin.com/in/joshua-malik-5127b31b/?utm_source=1851franchise.com&utm_medium=article&utm_campaign=joshua-trees-madison-malik-discusses-being-a-woman-in-the-green-industry-2721402" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">Joshua Malik</a>,&nbsp;Founder and CEO of the company, she has seen it grow from its inception into the emerging franchise it is today. She is now the Director of Sales and Marketing and has played an integral role in making Joshua Tree Experts a household name.“It’s empowering to be a woman in a mainly male dominated industry,” she said. “But we have a lot of women on board at Joshua Tree in all of our departments. We even have someone that works in pest control and tree care, as well as lawn care. It’s been really great to see that more females are being welcomed into the industry and advancing their careers.”&nbsp;For example,&nbsp;<a href="https://1851franchise.com/joshuatreeexperts/the-experts-behind-the-brand-how-this-lawn-department-supervisor-supports-growth-at-joshua-tree-experts-2720985#stories">Melissa Lee</a>, Lawn Department Supervisor, is one of the many specialized experts on the Joshua Tree Experts team whose hard work has pushed the brand to grow into a $7 million company. Lee is responsible for overseeing Joshua Tree Experts’ 13 lawn technicians who service over approximately 4,000 customers.&nbsp;Malik added that Joshua Tree Experts supports women in a variety of ways, from maternity leave to training programs. “They always support my goals,” she said. “There’s training all the time, and they’re open to new ideas and whatever I need in my role.”&nbsp;After having a front row seat to the growth of the company for years, Malik accepted a customer service position three and a half years ago. “There was an open position for the marketing role, and I have a really creative mind and background,” she said. “So, then I was able to step into that position when it opened up, and I've been doing that role for about two years now.”As the Director of Sales and Marketing, Malik has been a part of using marketing campaigns to help Joshua Tree find a return on its investments, saying that the company has “seen great ROI.” She also plays a large part in brainstorming out of the box campaigns that the company has not implemented before. Malik also spends time everyday interacting with the sales team to prepare them for the day, but what she really finds exciting is the time she spends market researching and brainstorming new ways the company can provide insight to future franchisees coming into the system.&nbsp;“I am really excited to be able to showcase all of our hard work to candidates as they come through Discovery Day and eventually training,” she said. “I have built an entire library with brochures, yard signs and vehicle designs that we'll be able to provide the franchisees with. The whole purpose of this is to make this as turnkey as possible.”The success she has seen since joining the company has been made possible though the support she has seen from the team, Malik says.
