Mayweather Boxing + Fitness Looks to Grow With New Hires

The fitness franchise announced three new hires, including a new director of franchise sales.

The coronavirus crisis has created profound challenges for franchise brands across virtually every segment, and fitness franchises are no exception. As a segment that traditionally requires in-store services and often interpersonal physical contact, fitness franchises have had to dramatically pivot their operations to survive this chapter, and many brands will no doubt collapse before the industry returns to anything resembling normalcy.

Those challenges go double for emerging fitness brands, which are less likely to have the wherewithal or infrastructure to make dramatic operational changes. But Mayweather Boxing + Fitness, the two-year-old fitness franchise out of Los Angeles, is apparently taking those challenges in stride and is positioning itself for growth, even as gyms remain closed in states across the country.

According to an article in Franchising.com, Mayweather Boxing + Fitness has hired three new executives to lead the franchise’s development efforts. Nick Abrahams will be the brand’s new Director of Franchise Sales, Christine DiBugnara will join as Director of Programming and Gabby Levine will be the new Sr. Director of Real Estate.

“Our franchise program has been met with incredible growth in under two years of operation, and we are excited to build our team internally to match the rapid expansion our brand has achieved,” CEO James Williams told Franchising.com. “Each new hire offers a uniquely qualified background, and I look forward to seeing them grow with the brand.”

The Mayweather brand has continued to hire new team members to lead their franchise development programs amidst nationwide gym shutdowns and company furloughs. Despite the challenges presented by the global pandemic, Mayweather has achieved sustained growth and will continue to recruit executives during this time to further support its burgeoning franchise system.

According to the article, Mayweather Boxing + Fitness is “the fastest growing new fitness franchise brand” and is continuing to sign new franchise agreements in markets across the country.
