Nation’s Restaurant News: IHOP Enhances Charitable Work with No Kid Hungry

Short stack promotion raises more than half a million dollars.

In the second year of its No Kid Hungry partnership, IHOP is continuing to focus on community with their charitable programs. According to a recent Nation’s Restaurant News article, the brand’s “$1 Short Stacks to End Child Hunger” promotion from last August passed more than half a million dollars in donations.

Every dollar raised in this promotion is donated to No Kid Hungry’s Share Our Strength campaign that promotes healthy breakfast for kids and IHOP’s signature buttermilk pancakes.  This year’s half a million raised was close to double what the brand raised in the first year of the program.

“IHOP is more than 1,600 restaurants, which are true community businesses,” said Kirk Thompson, IHOP senior vice president of marketing. “These are franchisees and general managers who have been involved with their communities for decades. It’s important at the local level to be so connected to the community.”
