When Brian Bilenski and Jeff Leggett invested in&nbsp;<a href="https://1851franchise.com/pestmaster/info">Pestmaster</a>, the pest control franchise with over 60 units, almost 20 years ago, the duo was inspired by the brand’s willingness to innovate and offer unique, flexible services that other concepts did not. As the pair has grown over the past 17 years, they have begun to see the&nbsp;<a href="https://pestmasterfranchise.com/?utm_source=1851franchise.com&utm_medium=article&utm_campaign=how-two-franchise-owners-built-a-legacy-with-pestmaster-2723239" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">Pestmaster</a> system as a family, while incorporating members of their own families into the business as well.“We feel the main two things required to maintain a healthy business and achieve long-term success are taking great care of our customers and doing the same for our employees,” said Bilenski. “Of course, we must be active on social media and in the community, but we’re training our employees to be successful with us for the long haul. We know that treating them like family will ensure longevity and customer success.”In addition, both Bilenski and Leggett have welcomed their own family members into the business. Bilenski’s eldest daughter will work in the office on breaks from school, and his middle son will help as he can in the field during summer break. Leggett’s eldest son works with the pair full-time, and his other son helps on breaks from school.“The future is bright when it comes to our company,” added Bilenski. “It’s a family thing; we treat everyone as if they are family. We give them trust and respect, and we pay them according to their performance. We do company outings and functions to keep morale high, but most importantly, we treat everyone with respect.”Operating with the values commonly associated with small-town family businesses has also driven the pair forward in their entrepreneurial journeys.“We believe strongly in honesty. We are human, and mistakes will be made, but instead of excuses, we give solutions,” explained Leggett. “We also believe in our product and our team, and we bake confidence into everyone so they can approach a job confidently and do it right the first time.”As the pair continues to grow, they said they envision a corporate office with multiple satellite locations across multiple areas.&nbsp;“We are constantly reinventing ourselves. We want to be the first in our areas, whether it’s software or the newest treatment technology,” said Bilenski. “It’s about being different — in a good way. We have no doubt that we will achieve our goals.
