The X-Games qualifier event is being hosted in Boise this weekend. With heightened concerns about security in large crowds in light of recent world events, the city is beefing up security for the event.
In addition to the Boise Police Department, the city has contracted Signal 88 Security to provide extra manpower at the two day event.
“We [Signal 88] do all kinds of events in the city, including Art in the Park and Boise’s Fourth of July celebrations, so we already have a good preexisting relationship with the Boise Parks and Recreation Department, and BPD, as well as the city in general," said Don Crowell.
The city expects more than 4,000 spectators to attend.
