Muhammad Rizwan, a North Carolina resident, software engineer and small business owner, recently brought Sir Grout to his community. The nearly 50-unit hard surface restoration and maintenance franchise offers various services, including grout and tile restoration, stone restoration, slip-resistant applications and more.

“I have about 11 years of experience working as a software engineer. I recently opened a franchise that did pavement maintenance and line striping, and I began to see demand from my customers for other services,” Rizwan said. “So I reached out to Sir Grout and got started.”

Eventually, Rizwan says he aims to make entrepreneurship his full-time job. As he grows his customer base, he says his primary priority continues to be providing the absolute best service.

“I wanted to go into home services because I went through a couple of issues myself,” he explained. “For example, my floor was looking really bad, and when I hired someone to come fix it, he ended up making it worse. It can be hard to find someone with professionalism and a clear understanding of what needs to be done.”

The hard surface restoration and maintenance segment is an incredibly lucrative one because almost every household is a potential client. Whether homeowners are looking to restore their surfaces entirely or simply maintain what they have in the interest of longevity, Sir Grout can help.

The tile restoration industry alone is worth $20 billion and has experienced a compound annual growth rate of 15% over the past five years. Sir Grout, and the larger home services industry, has proven itself to be resilient, growing in spite of a pandemic and economic uncertainty. Looking forward, even as rumors of a recession swirl, the concept has carved out its niche and is standing strong.

Because of Sir Grout’s strong internal support systems and relationship with multi-brand home services franchisor Threshold Brands, its franchisees are positioned to succeed from day one. The business will serve as both an opportunity for entrepreneurship and financial freedom for Rizwan himself as well as an investment that will be passed down to his family.

“Later on, I want to have a company that can support people, solve their issues and make their life easy,” he said. “Now that I have two businesses, I can add more concepts and become a one-stop shop for everything the homeowner needs. That’s what actually motivates me — to help my neighbors and customers.”

As the concept continues to grow, it seeks passionate franchisees in Boca Raton, West Palm Beach, Daytona Beach, and Miami/Ft. Lauderdale.

The estimated initial investment required for a Sir Grout business ranges between $121,830 and $146,710. For more information, visit https://franchise.sirgrout.com/.
