The idea of supporting an organization that empowers individuals through the companionship and assistance of service dogs resonated deeply with them. In 2017, during the early days of Squeeze, the team discovered Canine Companions, the largest provider of service dogs for children, veterans and people with disabilities — completely free of charge. The partnership felt serendipitous, especially when they learned that the dogs are trained with the word “Squeeze” as a cue for help.

“For every membership we sign, we are helping to provide a day of canine support for someone with a disability,” Driscoll said. “Our members get to feel like they are giving more.”

One of the most beloved aspects of this partnership is the “Puppy Days” initiative, where puppies in training visit Squeeze locations to interact with the team and guests. The collaboration between Squeeze Cherry Creek and the Rocky Mountain Chapter of Canine Companions has blossomed over the past year, with the organization visiting the shop several times in the past year. 

“The dogs seem to enjoy it just as much as our guests do — it’s like a reunion for them! We hosted five playful puppies in training and two adult working dogs,” the Cherry Creek team shared. “Each dog had a unique role, from Peppi, a beloved facility dog at Rose Hospital ER Department, to another who aids children in court proceedings. During the event, the puppies became instant celebrities, joyfully greeting every guest and  passerby. The sight of young children on the ground, surrounded by wagging tails and wet noses, was truly priceless.”
