If you haven’t been in on the latest restaurant tea, the Supreme Court rejected an appeal from Domino’s on Monday to hear a previous case which deemed the Domino’s website and mobile app inaccessible under the guidelines of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) after a blind customer tried ordering a pizza through the app. Industry experts predict that this case could lead to a new era for restaurants and their mobile apps, according to Fox Business.

“We are living in a more digitally-connected world run by software and we need to look at resetting standards for compliance and regulations, such as being ADA compliant,” said Ake, according to Fox Business.

Currently, there are no set-in-stone nationwide guidelines for a restaurant’s mobile app and website, but this case could spark that change. Today, restaurants are constantly rolling out new innovative technology additions, such as tabletop tablets and kiosks, to adhere to the latest tech trends and give customers convenience when it comes to ordering and delivery.
