This year&rsquo;s flu season seems to be hitting harder than ever before and schools, in particular, are seeing the effects. According to a <a href="http://www.mypanhandle.com/news/tutoring-company-distributes-supplies-to-combat-flu-in-schools/948814845?utm_source=1851franchise.com&utm_medium=article&utm_campaign=the-panhandle-tutor-doctor-distributes-supplies-to-combat-flu-in-schools-2705481" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">recent article from The Panhandle</a>, Bay County, Florida schools were seeing absences every day in their classrooms from the flu. That&rsquo;s why the co-owners of Tutor Doctor of Emerald Coast, Alison Parker and Lacey Frank, decided to take action. They took to Facebook and offered buckets of cleaning supplies to the first 50 teachers to comment on their post.

&quot;Teachers get things like this donated at the beginning of the year, but those things run out by January,&quot; said Parker, who was a teacher before owning her own business and knows the common struggles teachers face each year.

By the end of the day, the post had received over 400 comments which led Lacey and Parker to visit 32 schools across the county. Being a part of the community and helping out is what Tutor Doctor prides itself on and Lacey and Parker knew they had a chance to make a difference.
