CT Insider: Harwinton Resident’s Home-Repair Franchise ‘A Business with a Purpose for Me’

Craig Henry opens the first TruBlue Total House Care In Litchfield County to help seniors and busy families in the community.

Craig Henry, the owner of TruBlue Total House Care of Litchfield County, is a first-time business owner. For 20 years, Henry worked in the elevator industry until a horrible accident left him recovering in a nursing home. In 2018, he fell 13-foot down an elevator shaft resulting in several surgeries and months of rehab. During his recovery, he thought long and hard about what he was going to do when he could get back on his feet. He reflected on his own experience of coming home and needing to make modifications to maneuver around his home.

His empathy for others who have spent time in nursing homes, rehab facilities and fighting COVID led him to open TruBlue Total House Care, the handyman and home maintenance service brand that strives to provide affordable, worry-free living for seniors and hassle-free living for busy adults.

“I had issues doing anything at home,” said Henry. “The handyman had to come in because my home wasn’t suited for my needs. I started thinking about how there must be a lot of people who want to stay in their homes, but they can’t because they can’t keep up with the maintenance and the repairs.”

TruBlue Total House Care of Litchfield County opened in June 2022.
