TruBlue Total House Care, the emerging 70-unit home-services franchise, has made a name for itself as the only brand focused on providing home maintenance, modification and repair services in addition to ongoing in-home support to help seniors age in place.

As America’s rapidly growing senior population prefers to age at home rather than senior living facilities — a trend accelerated by the COVID-19 pandemic — there is a higher demand for quality in-home care and maintenance services to help keep seniors safe while living at home. In order to meet this demand and meet all seniors’ needs, TruBlue is continuing to team up with new national vendor partners to build out its portfolio of home services.

The newest partnership is with Seniors Home Services Inc, a one-stop solution for seniors that enables them to obtain the guidance, products and services needed to remain safely and comfortably in their homes for as long as possible.

“This partnership came about because both TruBlue and Seniors Home Services were a part of the HomesRenewed Coalition, a group creating awareness in Congress and raising funds for seniors aging in place,” said Sean Fitzgerald, president of TruBlue. “As we continue to expand and reach national coverage as a fast-growing franchise, we are excited to partner with more companies aligned with our mission.”

What is Seniors Home Services?

According to Jim Bland, president of Seniors Home Services, the primary goal of the company is to create a comprehensive solution for seniors aging in place, allowing family members the peace of mind knowing their loved ones are safe, secure and comfortable.

“There are about 53 million unpaid caregivers in the U.S., many of which are adult children, and 29% of seniors over the age of 75 are living at home alone,” said Bland. “We also know that about 10 million of those family caregivers are living over 450 miles away from that senior. We want to ensure those family members have the resources they need to help their loved ones age the way they want.”

Senior Home Services helps seniors prevent and detect falls by blending live 24/7 Professional Remote Monitoring and Coordination (RCC) with the latest intuitive remote monitoring technology.

“We want to provide oversight without being intrusive, and our connective home monitoring system allows us to keep family members up-to-date on the lives of their loved ones without any cameras or microphones,” said Bland. “The sensors installed in the home identify motion, temperature, moisture, and that data is driven into an A.I. software hub in the cloud that learns how the senior lives. From there, our four care coordinators keep an eye out for unusual activity, whether it be doors left open, a stove left on, water left running — all things we know could be a red flag. We also drive that data into an app for family members. We alleviate the worry for these families for only $139-a-month — a fraction of the cost of hiring a full time in-home care provider.”

Seniors Home Services also offers a wide variety of home modifications designed to keep seniors safe while aging at home, including the installation of indoor air purification systemsstairlifts and handrails, standard and flip-up grab bars, complete bathroom renovation, kitchen renovation, motion sensor lighting or doorway widening. The company can also provide medication management technology and safe medication disposal, as well as products that help seniors maintain mobility, balance, cognition and memory.

“For all of our services, the marketing and distribution is handled through our partners, which includes over 8,000 home healthcare locations,” said Bland. “These are the companies that are going into the home once or twice a week when someone is discharged from the hospital. Our information is introduced to the family as a holistic, comprehensive service that can be a resource for them to immediately know what they need in the home. Now TruBlue is one of those partners.”

How TruBlue and Seniors Home Services Will Work Together

By teaming up with Seniors Home Services, TruBlue Total House Care will be better prepared to serve more seniors and families across the country.

“Franchisees across the TruBlue network will now handle the installation of our equipment,” said Bland. “TruBlue is a perfect partner for introducing Seniors Home Services to the senior’s family as a resource that can help them with everything related to the home.”

Fitzgerald says Seniors Home Services also perfectly fills a gap within the TruBlue offering: monitoring. TruBlue dispatches trusted professionals to handle monthly home maintenance and safety assessments, as well as handyman work and more specialized needs like home modifications and lawn care. Now, with the Seniors Home Services partnership, TruBlue franchisees will be able to offer tech-driven monitoring that keeps seniors safe long after the initial visit.

“Why would someone need to send a senior to a nursing home when the senior would prefer not to go? It really comes down to peace of mind for their adult children,” said Fitzgerald. “We provide that immediate peace of mind through our modifications and handyman services, but now, through this partnership, we can also offer ongoing monitoring and additional services. Nursing homes provide routine checks and monitoring, so we want to help the families we work with feel as comfortable and secure as they would sending their loved ones to a facility.”

How This Partnership Will Position TruBlue Franchisees for Success

TruBlue Total House Care franchise owners will now be able to offer Seniors Home Services’ robust suite of services to their local clients and handle the installations themselves. In addition, these installations will allow them to reach new clients and provide information about the other services TruBlue provides. This is a great way for franchisees to provide additional value to their client, while also bringing in new recurring, passive revenue streams, Bland says.

“I have been involved in lots of franchises and businesses, and the one thing I know is that marketing and sales are always a challenge,” said Bland. “Getting the actual work done isn’t the challenge — it's finding the work. A huge benefit of this partnership is the fact that the TruBlue franchisee will have the opportunity to be brought into more homes where their services are going to be needed month after month, year after year.”

Fitzgerald says TruBlue is excited to leverage this partnership as it continues to sign qualified franchisees who are interested in bringing the brand’s uniquely well-positioned and meaningful consumer offering to the communities they serve.

“As a country, we are not only experiencing a change in how and where people want to grow old, but also how much time people are spending at home,” said Fitzgerald. “No other company blends high-quality in-home maintenance, modifications, repair, and now monitoring, despite the staggering demand for these services — which is why TruBlue is set for tremendous growth in the years to come.”

Start-up costs for a TruBlue Total House Care franchise range from $65,050-$91,400. To learn more about franchising with TruBlue, visit www.trubluefranchise.com.
