Amazon Raising Minimum Wage to $15

The raise will come into effect on November 1.

Amazon is raising its minimum wage to $15, according to a Business Insider report.

The raise will take effect on November 1 and affect more than 250,000 full-time and part-time employees and more than 100,000 seasonal staff members, according to the article. The current federal minimum wage in the U.S. is $7.25.

"We listened to our critics, thought hard about what we wanted to do, and decided we want to lead," Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos said, according to the article. "We're excited about this change and encourage our competitors and other large employers to join us."
