Amy Pace is one half of the husband-wife duo behind Aire Serv of Stafford, Texas. Pace and her husband, Eric, have been with The Dwyer Group for the past five years and have made tremendous strides both professionally and personally since joining the brand. Eric Pace opened his own air conditioning service shop in January 2008 before converting it to an Aire Serv in 2009. Air conditioning and cooling system repair is a trade business and a mostly male-dominated field. Pace began noticing there were many husband-wife teams in the system, but when it came down to trade shows, business events, meetings and conventions, the husband would attend while their wife stayed behind, tending to the bookkeeping and office work. After noticing this trend, Pace realized that women needed to be involved as well. [caption id="attachment_12368" align="alignleft" width="306" caption="Amy and Eric Pace"][/caption] As a female entrepreneur, Pace wanted to create a comfortable space where women in the same field could talk about business ownership, including the struggles and the triumphs they experienced on daily basis. She wanted to encourage other female business owners to be empowered by leadership and inspire them to be more involved. Pace began campaigning to organize an all-women retreat for Aire Serv franchisees. Pace's ultimate goal is to organize an event tailored to females in the industry, providing a less-threatening and more encouraging atmosphere for growth and training. She presented the idea to The Dwyer Group at the franchisor's 32nd Annual Reunion in San Antonio in September. CEO Dina Dwyer was in attendance and was incredibly inspired by Pace's initiative. Pace is currently in the planning stages for the retreat, which is set for February 2014 in Waco, Texas. Prior to joining Aire Serv, Pace worked as a registered nurse in women’s health at Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston, noting that throughout her career, she's always fought for the success and strength of women.
